What To Say, When Disability Shit Is the Last Thing on Your Mind?

Lately my mind has been elsewhere. On concerts, politics, friend drama, getting costumes ready for CONvergence, the utter lack of decent men in my city, and well, red wine.

And that’s the whole point of today’s point really: To stress that even though this blog is penned by a woman with a SCI, it is not her whole life. In fact, it has been the farthest thing from my mind lately.

I blame Barack, the arrival of summer, Battlestar Galactica, and an abundance of social activities to attend. So….with that said, I’m sorry. I have no sage words on disability life as of late, but that’s just how the ball rolls sometimes.

It’s bound to change though. It’s just a matter of time before some AB idiot says something to me on the street that’s worth blogging about.

Until that time comes….

  1. Ah, but isn’t that one of the underlying themes of this website? That we are more than just our disabilities. We have friends, enjoy movies, music, television, sports, etc. just like any non-wheeler? I say blog on about Battlestar Galactica if it suits your mood.

  2. ok. so, wasnt it rad when starbuck chopped off her hair with a knife? 🙂

  3. i still gotta watch the BSG from ’78….it’s on my “to-do” list 🙂

  4. I’m personally amazed that anyone has enough creative energy (wish I did) to write as much as you have so far. Even when you have nothing to write about, you write about it. That’s the point, but it’s still funny. You know, it’s your blog, your life. I think at this point, you can write about anything you want and not worry about losing disability cred. Really, a day when your mind is not on SCI could probably just be called a good day.

Normally, I stay away from politics, but I have to say that I’m now more hopeful this time around and have been drawn into the drama of this race. You’ve had a few posts, but I wouldn’t mind hearing and discussing a bit more about that from time to time, as the mood strikes.
