For my August, How Do You Wear Your LegaWear blog, I’m highlighting the coolest piece of clothing currently in my closet (other than my reconstructed DARE t-shirt): My superfly white LegaWear jacket (get yours here), complete with a pimptastic PURPLE liner.

Lady Gaga cosplay
Here’s my stab at at the Lady Gaga “Telephone” video costume (the opening prison scene to be exact) for CONvergence (Minneapolis’ annual sci-fi convention). Not bad for a wheelchair girl, right? The dress was orginally a black clubbing dress that I striped using white duct tape. Shades are from Ragstock ($7). Bigger version of costume here

Jeggings: The most slimming jean you’ll ever buy
Well folks, I’ve been enlightened by the fashion Gods as of late. It all started with celeb photos on Perez Hilton, with me coveting the skinny ass stars in their glove-tight skinny ass jeans, and then it dawned on me: THEY ARE NOT WEARING SKINNY JEANS. It was a trick. What these trendy gals were wearing were in fact Jeggings, the latest greatest garment to hit the clothing world since the Miracle Bra. Jeggings debuted last summer and are leggings masquerading as jeans. They have a jean print, come in several washes and colors, and some even have faux pockets and a real button-fly. BUT DON’T BE FOOLED. They are…

Suit styling: Imma be lookin’ all fly in LegaWear
After about a month-long wait, and what I can imagine was a very long and arduous tailoring process (as all their suits are made in Thailand), I’ve finally received my custom SMOKIN black suit (jacket/pants combo) from the adapted clothing company Legawear. See the jacket I’m wearing in the pic? This jacket is one of the greatest pieces of clothing I’ve ever bought and the reason is simple: Precise tailoring. More…

Ordering my first (adapted) custom suit
Everyone dreams of getting a custom-made suit, and my perfectly tailored suit to fit my seated frame is soon on it’s way! I just ordered a custom-made suit from LegaWear, an adapted clothing company for wheelchair-users. I had to take about 2 dozen measurements (34-28-38, baby! And 6″ round wrists FTW!) and was able to choose everything from the color, pattern, cut, down to even how many buttons and breast pockets I’d like. I cannot wait to recieve my creation in the mail! _______________________________ The quite rad David Lega, a Paralympian swimmer hailing from Sweden (and his accent is adorable), began LegaWear a few years ago. Last week they just launched their brand new site that includes…

Wheelchair Clothes: Where to Shop for Adapted Fashion
The world of wheelchair clothes, or adapted fashion, is getting really awesome lately. A slew of new companies is creating some outstanding garments, and I can’t help but get excited over the choices. There’s nothing more satisfying than a wheelchair clothes company that not only creates adapted clothing, but gets it right. More…

Leg warmers, and their “magical” medical properties
I’m always a sucker for gifts, so Garvey Rich over at Functional Comfort must be psychic. You see, as a blogger (if you’re semi-popular or moreso), there’s this bad ass phenomenon of receiving free things in the mail from companies, with an end goal (on their part) that I’ll blog about their said product in a positive light. Free advertising yo. So when I received 4 pairs of leg warmers and 2 pairs of arm warmers in the mail from the people at Function Comfort, I must say I felt I’ve moved up in the eschelon of blogger-dom. This is the first time a company has ever sent me free…
