The Aurora Foundation is a non-profit after my heart. Their mission – “To empower young women with disabilities to access their inherent leadership capacities.” Their sister foundation, disABLED DIVAZ, has an exciting fashion show coming up. They’ve also launched their first ever fashion design competition.

Dutch wheelchair tennis athlete Esther Vergeer, 29, has been chosen to grace the cover of ESPN magazine’s 2010 Body Issue. She’s the first woman in a wheelchair to be featured in the magazine’s anticipated issue (which photographs athletes at the top of their game in artfully nude poses). Read more.

This time has finally come. An undisclosed newly-injured complete paraplegic has been injected with hESCs (human embryonic stem cells) in the USA’s first FDA approved (yet privately funded) treatment using hESCs. Will it work? Of course it will. The real question is when can I (and you) get the treatment.

He’s also transgendered and no lie, has perfected the art of mooning from his wheelchair (if Hitler isn’t rolling in his grave right now, he will be soon).
